Mr. Daigle began learning the Trumpet at age 12 in White Hall, Arkansas and is very thankful for the numerous places music has taken him. He received his Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Arkansas in 2004, Master of Music in Performance and Literature from the University of Illinois in 2007 and most recently completed residency for the Doctor of Musical Arts at Arizona State University before moving to Dallas in 2009. His teaching experience includes being a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Trumpet at the University of Illinois and Arizona State University, and Private/Group Trumpet Instruction in the Texas Independent School Districts of Forney, McKinney, Rockwall, Richardson, Mesquite and Wylie. He has also taught in Fayetteville, AR, St. Louis, MO, Champaign-Urbana, IL and Phoenix, AZ.
His professional performing experience includes serving as Principal Trumpet for the Las Colinas, Garland and Arlington Symphonies (2009-2013), Principal Trumpet for Phoenix Chamber Brass (2007-2009) and Principal Trumpet of the Champaign-Urbana Symphony (2006-2007). In 2001 he earned his first professional Symphonic appointments as Third Trumpet with the North Arkansas Symphony and Section Trumpet with the Fort Smith Symphony, chairs which he held until 2004. From 2004-2005 he was a member of the St. Louis Wind Symphony and the St. Louis Philharmonic. Other notable professional appearances include The Phoenix Symphony, East Texas Symphony, Dallas Wind Symphony, Sinfonia deCamera, St. Louis Friends of Music, Plano Symphony, Allen Philharmonic, Danville Symphony, Pine Bluff Symphony and Imperial Brass Ensemble. In 2003 he was invited to perform for a multi-week running of the opera La Conquista de Mexico in Mexico City and Guanajuato, Mexico and performed at the 2008 International Trumpet Guild Conference in Banff, Alberta, Canada. He has performed in the orchestra pit for musicals and theatre shows include Chicago, Man of LaMancha, Hairspray, Guys and Dolls, Crazy for You, Bernstein’s Mass and others. He has performed in recordings for National Public Radio and can be heard on the NAXOS label’s “The Music of William Grant Still”. His musical interests range from Bach to Bluegrass and he loves playing his first two instruments, Piano and Drums along with Harmonica and Voice. In high school he was even selected to the Arkansas All State Choir and received a substantial vocal scholarship to participate in the noted ensemble Schola Cantorum as an undergraduate at the University of Arkansas. His primary trumpet teachers include David Hickman, Ronald Romm, Michael Ewald, Wiff Rudd, Richard Rulli, Neal Woolworth and Jim Buckner. He lives in Rowlett with his wife Laura who teaches elementary music at Austin Elementary in Mesquite and daughter Adelyn. When not teaching, performing or appreciating family time, he can be found relishing the outdoors at the nearest Disc Golf course.
